The lifestyle of the people of India has been largely influenced by the rich history, culture and tradition of the country. Not only is it blessed with unique geography; its very old civilization that can be dated back to more than 8000 years, its many religions, languages, art and customs have made the Indian people a proud nation. Though many young people live in nuclear families, the tradition of the joint family is far from dead. - Religion: Indians are a religious lot and no Indian worth his salt will start his day without offering his prayers to God. India is the birthplace of Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism. Also, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Zoroastrianism and the Bahai Faith are followed by a lot of people.
- Fashion: Indians are a stylish lot and young Indians can be frequently seen sporting top global brands such as Gucci, Prada, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Calvin Klein and the like. A lot of Indians also wear traditional Indian clothes like the Sari or the Salwar Kameez. These garments are very beautiful and are usually reserved for special occasions like weddings or festivals.
- Social life: Indians are very social beings and love to spend time socializing. Instead of visiting clubs and discotheques, most Indians prefer to hang out with friends and relatives over good food and drinks. It is not at all uncommon to find complete strangers chatting to each other while travelling in a bus or a train!
- Music: A huge part of the Indian lifestyle can be attributed to music. Indians love a good tune and are forever patronizing new techniques of making music. Not only are Indian musicians making their mark on the world stage, small singers and local bands too are gaining the adulation of the people as well.
